«مراتب سعادت» در فلسفة اخلاق ارسطو

چکیده

سعادت در فلسفة اخلاق ارسطو محوریت دارد. اما بین مفسران ارسطو دربارة چیستی سعادت، راه شناخت آن و برخی امور مرتبط دیگر، اختلاف نظر وجود دارد. جان مکدَوْل تفاسیری جدید از این مباحث به دست می­دهد. به نظر او افعال درست، مقوّم سعادت هستند. تنها فضیلت‌مند می‌تواند چنین افعالی را بشناسد. ارزش این افعال واقعی است. دلیل اخلاقی از درون منظر فضیلت­مند است. ارسطو هم با استناد به کارکرد انسان، از نظرش در باب سعادت دفاع بیرونی نمی­کند. ما استدلال می­کنیم که ارسطو به «مراتب سعادت» قائل است: «سعادت حیوانی»، «سعادت انسانی» و «سعادت الهی». مکدَوْل «سعادت حیوانی» و «سعادت الهی» را لحاظ نمی­کند. ارسطو در مقام فیلسوف، بر اساس کارکرد زیستی انسان، دربارۀ این سه نوع سعادت و مراتب آنها استدلال می­کند. و فضایل (رذایل) هستند که ارزش ذاتی دارند و ارزش افعال فرع بر ارزش آنهاست.
